Booker T. Washington is an extremely significant figure in American History. Unfortunately, too many Americans, let alone Black-Americans, are unaware of his contribution to the great country. The Booker T. Washington Birthplace Memorial Commission honored him with this commemorative 50 cents piece. Millions were dispensed from 1946 to 1951.
